Mel’s Green Garden Tip of the Day: Weeds, weeds, weeds. One of my favorite tips from my Grandma is to use your grass clippings as mulch. It provides your soil with great nutrients, plus the layer of grass suppresses weeds and conserves water for your plants. I also throw my coffee grounds over the grass clippings, so it looks a little tidier. I love to put this combination around my cleome flowers when they are tall and leaning over, it helps to stake them up.
